The Changing Futures Foundation and the Terra Centre have partnered to provide safe, secure, and affordable housing for teen parents completing their education, while raising their children. These young people will benefit from the Changing Futures Foundation’s first affordable housing solution, Project Touchdown, a four-plex located in the Montrose neighborhood of Edmonton.

History

Expanding on his vision of building homes of hope to help those in our community who need a “hand up” not a “hand out”, in 2011 Ken Ferchoff, founder of Carrington Group of Companies, created the Changing Futures Foundation to ensure this important legacy will live on.

Working in partnership with community agencies, the Changing Futures Foundation recognizes and understands the need for safe and attainable housing in our city and has a passion to help build strong, mixed and healthy communities in Edmonton. By avoiding the segregation of those who fall below a certain income level, the Foundation strives to diversify neighborhoods and create balanced communities, where everyone is given a chance to succeed.

Mission

Building sustainable solutions to help others help themselves.

Changing Futures Foundation is a non for profit organization committed to creating partnerships and opportunities to help underprivileged or marginalized individuals and families work toward building their own sustainable, brighter future.

Our objective is to help provide a safe, secure environment, coupled with appropriate support systems, to create successful outcomes.

How we Help

Our goal is to position the Changing Futures Foundation as a valuable asset in the community. To this end, everyone associated with the Foundation shares a common vision, belief and approach as to the impact the Foundation will have on building brighter tomorrows for underprivileged and marginalized individuals and families.

Clear direction and effective leadership, open communication, sharing of ideas and collaboration guide the activities of the Foundation.

Forming strong partnerships with non-profit agencies, volunteers and stakeholders, ensure each have a sense of what and how they can contribute to achieving the goals of the organization.

Working as a diverse team, our activities are focused on outcomes with specific and measurable results. Solid planning and evaluation ensure all projects are carried out efficiently, effectively and achieve maximum results.
