1) Director of Construction – Carrington Construction, Edmonton – Full Time

Reporting to the VP of Carrington Construction, the Director of Construction is responsible for monitoring and improving the strategic goals of the construction team. The Director will oversee estimating, purchasing and all aspects of the construction department in a collaborative environment. The Director will provide leadership, mentorship and experienced direction to a diverse team. The Director will manage a dynamic workflow while being focused on exceeding corporate initiatives, goals and targets. The Director will be exceedingly focused on developing and fostering a highly successful construction team.

Director of Construction Qualifications/Experience:
– Minimum of ten (10) years of leadership and management experience. Demonstrated coach and mentor to previous teams.
– Minimum of five (5) years practical experience in multi and/or single family wood frame construction, or multi-story CIP concrete construction.
– Completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma in engineering, business, marketing, economics, or a related field.
– Proficient and highly experienced in forecasting and budgeting.
– Extensive experience with project estimating and scheduling.
– Competent and experienced in detailed review analysis, take-offs, review and assessment of blueprints, and technical data.
– Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project and Excel.
– Effective interpersonal skills with proven ability to work with and leading diverse groups and personalities.
– Proficient in problem solving and conflict resolution.
– Proven planning, communication, organizing, leadership, decision making and negotiating skills.
– A valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract.

Director of Construction Responsibilities:
– Oversee construction projects including project planning, quality, safety, budgeting and identification of resources needed.
– Provide leadership and mentorship to the construction department including; Project Managers, Project Coordinators, Superintendents, Estimators, and Purchasers. Develop personal growth goals and strategies for the construction team.
– Ensure construction activities progress according to schedule, budget and quality.
– Maintain awareness of current marketplace and trends to gain and maintain our competitive advantage and develop effective strategies.
– Drive and manage the construction progress and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
– Maintain regular communications with the leadership team.

2) Customer Care Representative – Carrington Construction, Edmonton – Full Time

Carrington Construction is seeking a professional Customer Care Representative for multi-family residential construction.

Qualities of an Ideal Customer Care Representative:
– Passion for people, relationships, and attention to detail is required
– Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
– As the face representing Carrington to customers, a high degree of professionalism, accountability, and understanding
– Strong experience in customer relations including conflict resolution and the ability to be receptive and diplomatic
– Strong multi-tasking skills, with the ability to organize, prioritize, and focus on key deliverables
– Experience in multi-family residential construction, is an asset
– Knowledge of ANHW guidelines and ability to assess product specifications and blueprints, is an asset

– Document inspection data and create reports for the Quality Management Team

3) Warranty Technician Assistant – Master Craftsman Warranty, Edmonton – Full Time

Master Craftsman Warranty is the exclusive warranty provider to Carrington Communities and Bedrock Homes and is seeking a highly professional Warranty Technician Assistant with exceptional customer service focus.

Warranty Technician Assistant Qualifications/Experience:
– General repair skills in carpentry, painting, tiling, flooring, etc.
– Knowledge of building processes and practices is an asset.
– Driven to fulfill commitments in a timely manner with the highest of quality.
– Exceptional customer service skills.
– Excellent and professional communication skills.
– Valid driver’s license (non GDL) and clean drivers abstract.

Warranty Technician Assistant Responsibilities:
– Provide assistance to the Warranty Technicians with, but not limited to; pick up and drop off materials, removal of flooring and tile, painting, general labour duties, etc.
– Provide general assistance to the Warranty department as per the Warranty Manager.
– Required to provide own hand tools.

4) Junior Accountant – Bedrock Homes, Edmonton – Full Time

Bedrock Homes is currently seeking an experienced candidate that is looking to grow within our dynamic team of professionals.

Junior Accountant Qualifications/Experience:
– Post-secondary school diploma in Accounting.
– 3+ years’ accounting experience. Accounts Payable experience in the residential homebuilding industry is considered an asset.
– Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point).
– Sound knowledge and experience with Timberline 300. Homefront experience is considered an asset.
– Demonstrated ability to accurately calculate, post, correct, and manage accounting figures and financial records.

5) Architectural Technologist/Design Coordinator – Carrington Communities, Edmonton – Full Time

Carrington Construction is seeking an Architectural Technologist/Design Coordinator for multi-family residential construction.

Architectural Technologist/Design Coordinator Qualifications/Experience:
– Completion of an Architectural Technology diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution.
– 3+ years’ design and construction related experience.
– Proficient in AutoCAD and SketchUp.
– Knowledge and experience of the Alberta Building Code.
– Familiar with understanding and applying the requirements of Zoning Bylaws.
– In depth knowledge preparing and coordinating contract documents and contract administration.
– Solid working knowledge of building assemblies, design and construction detailing.
– Proven ability to work collaboratively with consultants, contractors and project stakeholders.

Architectural Technologist/Design Coordinator Responsibilities:
– Develop new and innovative floor plans for a wide range of multi-family construction projects.
– Coordinate the project design, contract documentation, permitting and contract administration from schematic design development to completion.
– Manage external consultants in regards to contract documentation preparation and contract administration.
– Participate in the resolution of technical and design related issues as they arise.

6) Estimator – Carrington Communities, Edmonton – Full Time

Carrington Construction is seeking an experienced Estimator for multi-family residential construction.

Multi-Family Residential Estimator Qualifications/Experience:
– Three + years estimating experience for multi-family residential construction in Alberta, ideally in a fast paced production builder environment. Specifically wood frame construction and multi-story CIP concrete construction (considered an asset).
– Post-secondary degree or diploma in Building, Construction Management, Architectural Technologies, Quantity Surveying or equivalent from a recognized technical institute.
– Excellent working knowledge of the Alberta Building Codes.
– Ability to interpret and provide comments on architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical blueprints and specifications and costing points of view.
– Mathematical skills and analytical skills necessary to do material and labour estimates and cost-to-complete reports.
– Expert working knowledge of Excel and MS Project, working knowledge of Homefront is considered an asset.
– Accuracy is critical to the profitability of the business; under-estimates may cause financial losses and over-estimates may reduce our competitiveness.
– Effective verbal, written and listening communication skills.
– Effective interpersonal skills with proven ability to work with a diverse group and personalities.

Multi-Family Residential Estimator Responsibilities:
– Prepare material take offs, labour and equipment cost estimations necessary to successfully carry out a construction project according to proposals, plans, estimates and specifications.
– Cost estimating – conceptual, preliminary and detailed
– Prepare and/or coordinate the preparation of all tender documents on multi-family developments.
– Prepare, review and analyze tender submissions received for accuracy; revise proposals; compare pricing across all submissions to determine the most accurate and cost effective submission.
– Review requests for customized price quotes based on adjustments to standard plans, specifications, and options and complete retail pricing for final acceptance.
– Manage daily workload based on predetermined deadlines and known daily tasks.

7) Sales Assistant – Carrington Communities, Edmonton – Full Time

Carrington Communities, a leader in the new condo construction industry, is looking for Sales Assistants to work full-time in sales centres throughout Edmonton. Sales Assistant’s primary responsibility is to provide support to the Project Sales Manager for their area via greeting customers, engaging in presentations, stocking sales centres with marketing materials and giving suite tours to potential buyers.

New Home Sales Experience Preferred!

Hours are from 3:00-8:00pm Monday to Thursday and 12:00-5:00pm Saturday, Sunday and holidays. You must be available to work the hours stated.
