1) Director of Construction – Carrington Construction, Edmonton – Full Time

Reporting to the VP of Carrington Construction, the Director of Construction is responsible for monitoring and improving the strategic goals of the construction team. The Director will oversee estimating, purchasing and all aspects of the construction department in a collaborative environment. The Director will provide leadership, mentorship and experienced direction to a diverse team. The Director will manage a dynamic workflow while being focused on exceeding corporate initiatives, goals and targets. The Director will be exceedingly focused on developing and fostering a highly successful construction team.

Director of Construction Qualifications/Experience:
– Minimum of ten (10) years of leadership and management experience. Demonstrated coach and mentor to previous teams.
– Minimum of five (5) years practical experience in multi and/or single family wood frame construction, or multi-story CIP concrete construction.
– Completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma in engineering, business, marketing, economics, or a related field.
– Proficient and highly experienced in forecasting and budgeting.
– Extensive experience with project estimating and scheduling.
– Competent and experienced in detailed review analysis, take-offs, review and assessment of blueprints, and technical data.
– Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project and Excel.
– Effective interpersonal skills with proven ability to work with and leading diverse groups and personalities.
– Proficient in problem solving and conflict resolution.
– Proven planning, communication, organizing, leadership, decision making and negotiating skills.
– A valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract.

Director of Construction Responsibilities:
– Oversee construction projects including project planning, quality, safety, budgeting and identification of resources needed.
– Provide leadership and mentorship to the construction department including; Project Managers, Project Coordinators, Superintendents, Estimators, and Purchasers. Develop personal growth goals and strategies for the construction team.
– Ensure construction activities progress according to schedule, budget and quality.
– Maintain awareness of current marketplace and trends to gain and maintain our competitive advantage and develop effective strategies.
– Drive and manage the construction progress and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
– Maintain regular communications with the leadership team.

2) Marketing Coordinator (Junior Graphic Designer) – Carrington Communities, Edmonton – Full Time

The Marketing Coordinator (Junior Graphic Designer) will work with the Sales and Marketing team to research, plan and prepare print and web advertisements and promotional materials for Carrington Communities as well as plan, organize and execute marketing plans to facilitate new showhome/suite openings and maintain the needs of existing sites.

The ideal candidate will need to be bright, imaginative, and a confident marketing professional, with complimentary graphic design capabilities. You will have strong communication and organization skills, and able to work in a fast paced, market driven environment.

Marketing Coordinator (Junior Graphic Designer) Qualifications/Experience:
– Diploma or Degree in Marketing and/or Graphic Design from an accredited post-secondary educational institution.
– Minimum three (3) years’ experience with marketing coordination is required.
– Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a graphic designer.
– Experienced in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign) and working in a PC environment.
– Working knowledge of Microsoft Office is necessary.

Under the direction of the Assistant Marketing Manager, the Marketing Coordinator (Junior Graphic Designer) will assist in researching and planning marketing campaigns for Carrington Communities, ensuring all sales centres are maintained in terms of signage, water and supplies, coordinating with vendors for services, maintaining inventory levels, event planning, and marketing administration duties. This position will also work closely with the Senior Graphic Designer in the creation of design items which may include but are not limited to logos, brochures, print ads, outdoor signage, interior signage for sales centers etc.

3) Assistant Site Superintendent – Bedrock Homes, Edmonton – Full Time

Bedrock Homes is seeking an experienced Assistant Site Superintendent for single family residential construction.

Assistant Site Superintendent Qualifications/Experience:
– Minimum 3 years’ experience in single family residential construction.
– General knowledge of the Alberta Building Code.
– Thorough understanding of construction terms, scheduling and planning concepts.
– Expert ability in accurately interpreting project specifications and plans.
– Proven adaptability to manage priorities and sequencing in a changing work environment impacted by external business conditions.
– Carpentry experience and the use of general power tools is essential
– Meticulous attention to detail.
– Self-starter with ability to set and direct goals and tasks.
– Proven skills in leadership, communication, and problem solving.
– Exceptional organizational, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

4) Senior Residential Construction Estimator, Bedrock Homes, Full time, Edmonton

Bedrock Homes is seeking a qualified Senior Residential Construction Estimator to join our team.

Senior Residential Construction Estimator Qualifications/Experience:
– Minimum of five + years estimating experience for single-family residential construction in Alberta, ideally at a senior level, overseeing a team of estimators in a fast paced production builder environment.
– Completion of a construction, civil or structural engineering diploma or degree; or equivalent practical experience.
– Excellent working knowledge of the Alberta Building Codes.
– Ability to read and interpret building specifications, and blueprints.
– Effective interpersonal skills with proven ability to work with a diverse group and personalities.

Senior Residential Construction Estimator Responsibilities:
– Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the Senior Estimator will manage daily estimating team workload and oversee estimating team performance based on predetermined deadlines and known targets.
– Prepare, review and analyze tender submissions received for accuracy; revise proposals; compare and negotiate pricing across all submissions to determine the most accurate and cost effective submission.
– Review requests for customized price quotes based on adjustments to standard plans, specifications, and options and complete retail pricing for final acceptance.
– Review all final change orders and interior selection packages to ensure accuracy and completeness, prior to scheduled project start date.
– Prepare material take offs, labour and equipment cost estimations necessary to successfully carry out a construction project according to proposals, plans, estimates and specifications.
– Prepare and/or coordinate the preparation of all construction purchase orders on single and multi-family developments as required.
– Address concerns with trades and suppliers relating to purchase order discrepancies and pricing.
– Review and approve field variance requests for accuracy and validity.
– Create and adjust model assemblies in estimating software as required for new designs or projects.
– Strong adaptability to ever changing workload demands.
