1) Director of Construction – Carrington Construction, Edmonton – Full Time

Reporting to the VP of Carrington Construction, the Director of Construction is responsible for monitoring and improving the strategic goals of the construction team. The Director will oversee estimating, purchasing and all aspects of the construction department in a collaborative environment. The Director will provide leadership, mentorship and experienced direction to a diverse team. The Director will manage a dynamic workflow while being focused on exceeding corporate initiatives, goals and targets. The Director will be exceedingly focused on developing and fostering a highly successful construction team.

Director of Construction Qualifications/Experience:
– Minimum of ten (10) years of leadership and management experience. Demonstrated coach and mentor to previous teams.
– Minimum of five (5) years practical experience in multi and/or single family wood frame construction, or multi-story CIP concrete construction.
– Completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma in engineering, business, marketing, economics, or a related field.
– Proficient and highly experienced in forecasting and budgeting.
– Extensive experience with project estimating and scheduling.
– Competent and experienced in detailed review analysis, take-offs, review and assessment of blueprints, and technical data.
– Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project and Excel.
– Effective interpersonal skills with proven ability to work with and leading diverse groups and personalities.
– Proficient in problem solving and conflict resolution.
– Proven planning, communication, organizing, leadership, decision making and negotiating skills.
– A valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract.

Director of Construction Responsibilities:
– Oversee construction projects including project planning, quality, safety, budgeting and identification of resources needed.
– Provide leadership and mentorship to the construction department including; Project Managers, Project Coordinators, Superintendents, Estimators, and Purchasers. Develop personal growth goals and strategies for the construction team.
– Ensure construction activities progress according to schedule, budget and quality.
– Maintain awareness of current marketplace and trends to gain and maintain our competitive advantage and develop effective strategies.
– Drive and manage the construction progress and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
– Maintain regular communications with the leadership team.

2) Customer Care Representative – Carrington Construction, Edmonton – Full Time

Carrington Construction is seeking a professional Customer Care Representative for multi-family residential construction.

Qualities of an Ideal Customer Care Representative:
– Passion for people, relationships, and attention to detail is required
– Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
– As the face representing Carrington to customers, a high degree of professionalism, accountability, and understanding
– Strong experience in customer relations including conflict resolution and the ability to be receptive and diplomatic

– Experience in multi-family residential construction, is an asset
– Knowledge of ANHW guidelines and ability to assess product specifications and blueprints, is an asset

3) Marketing Coordinator – Carrington Land, Lifestyle Options, Edmonton – Full Time

The Marketing Coordinator will work with Carrington Land, Lifestyle Options, and other divisions as needed to coordinate all activities with respect to both marketing and brand management.

The Graphic Designer/Marketing Coordinator will work with the Sales and Marketing team to research, plan and prepare print and web advertisements and promotional materials for Carrington Communities as well as plan, organize and execute marketing plans to facilitate new showhome/suite openings and maintain the needs of existing sites.

Design items may include but are not limited to logos, brochures, print ads, outdoor signage, interior signage for sales centers etc.
The Graphic Designer/Marketing Coordinator must effectively communicate and coordinate with other departments to ensure that the visual design communicates the desired message, and functions successfully for varying technical and performance specifications.
Other tasks include marketing administration, event planning, maintenance of all sites in terms of signage/sales centres and other duties as required. This position requires a balance of graphic skill and marketing prowess.

The Executive Assistant is responsible for a wide variety of administrative duties in support of the Chairman of the Board and president. 6) Architectural Technologist – Bedrock Homes, Edmonton – Full Time

Bedrock Homes is currently seeking an experienced Architectural Technologist to join our dynamic team of professionals.
Architectural Technologist Qualifications/Experience:
– Completion of an Architectural Technology diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution.
– 5 years’ experience in Single Family Residential Construction drafting.
– Proficient in SoftPlan or AutoCAD.
– Ability to create high quality architectural drawings and construction details.
– Experience working for a model home builder is preferred.
– A knowledge of permit applications and city approval process is an asset.
– In-depth knowledge of the Alberta Building Code, Part 9.
– Familiar with understanding and applying Bylaw requirements; knowledge of Architectural Guidelines is an asset.
– Has an understanding of truss and joist layouts, engineering details, and plot plans.
– Familiar with current Fire Safety construction requirements for Edmonton and surrounding communities.
– Confident in working independently and in a team environment.
– Able to communicate efficiently in a professional manner – verbal and written.
– High quality drafting skills and attention to detail, supported by exceptional organizational skills.
– Can confidently make decisions related to design and construction methods that are resourceful, can potentially save cost and will eliminate future construction problems.

Architectural Technologist Responsibilities:
– Creating and altering working drawings for single family homes, duplexes, and townhomes.
– Collaborate with suppliers and engineers to obtain all necessary documentation for development and building permit applications.
– Work in close proximity with sales personnel and a construction team to customize floor plans and problem solve construction issues.
– Seeing all architectural projects and permits applications to completion, addressing and overcoming obstacles that may arise due to bylaw requirements, code requirements, customer preferences, grading issues, etc.
– Potential for the position to also encompass house plan designing and mentorship to junior drafters.
